The first regional spatial plan in BiH (at all) was done by Geprojekt company. It was regional spatial plan for the Region “Upper Drina River” encompassing Eastern BiH municipalities: Rudo, Visegrad, Gorazde, Cajnice & Foca. The plan was done according to its own methodology having as the main aim analysing impact of planned hydro-energy plants' system collocated at the upper part of the Drina River, on the spatial development of the Region and wider area as well.
Thanks to the successfully job done, as well as a special Study on the Hydro Energy Plant “Visegrad”, there were harmonised a number of, that far, contradictory interests related to these issues, and finally it was built the Hydro Energy Plant “Visegrad”, as the biggest and far the most valuable energy plant in BiH. Geoprojekt is particularly specialised in spatial organisation analyses related to elaboration of natural characteristics and potential possibilities of their usage as well as definition of long-term targets and directions of development, in a given planning period. Spatial analyses Geoprojekt has been focused on also include the following issues: rational space organisation and usage, optimal development of settlements and towns, determination of economic infrastructure & construction of economic facilities, paying special attention to preservation of valuable environmental and historic areas and facilities.
Development programmes, in broader sense, represents spatial and urban plans, whereof the latter are long-term oriented development documents with appropriate projections and implementation dynamics. Investment programmes are documents based on which economic players do investments. Geoprojekt has, so far, created a number of investment programmes in different economic sectors, such as: civil engineering, agriculture, natural resources usage, communal infrastructure etc.
Special studies Geoprojekt has created so far thematically referred to analysing the impact of hydro- & thermo-energy plants’ construction on the spatial development of the surrounding areas, both from environmental and physical aspect of influence on existing surfaces and facilities. The most important studies done so far are: Study on HE Plant “Visegrad”, Study on HE Plant “Gorazde”, Study on TE Plant “Ugljevik”, Study on TE Plant “Tuzla” (block VI), and Study on the cross border point “Gradiska”, including custom terminal in the municipality of Gradiska.
Within this activity, particularly important analyses were done for German Governmental Development Agency - GTZ, in the following three sectors: electro - energy; textile, leather and shoe industry; & wood processing industry in 2002. This analyse was followed by the first comprehensive Elaborate on environmentally sound and economically profitable wood waste usage in BiH (2204-5). Finally, just to mention the last but not least out of a number of analyses and elaborates done by Geoprojekt – Elaborate of Communal infrastructure development in the Municipalities of Gradiska, Srbac and Laktasi encompassing:
Beside elaborates and analyses there have been done a number of small scale investment projects, just to mention but few – Investment projects for: Business-Residential Centre in Sarajevo; Briquettes & Charcoal Factory in Hadzici; Food Processing Company in Konjic; Mini Cow Farm & Milk Production Factory in Vogosca; Factory for Water & Juice Production in Praca; and many others.
